Introduction
This document was created because of behavior and mistakes by the mods from the majority of the team and revealed the broken nature of the system (happened in late 2024). The purpose of this document is to inform the people by addressing the flaws of the current system and in its place build anew with proper liberty and justice for all. This document has been written in U.S. English for my Americans (I speak in and write in British English).

Chapter 1: Grievances Pre-Reform
Enforcement of the Rules
Most of the long-term users of the subreddit have come to realize that the rules and how the moderators enforce them is questionable at best, and unacceptable at worst. The rules shown on the subreddit themselves are vague when put in practice as a lot of them are up to the mods to decide if a user broke a rule or not. According to the users under the post titled Future of the Sub,1 multiple people have stated their experiences with one user getting banned for breaking a rule, then another is left alone. While we cannot verify these claims, it is a thing to consider when dozens of people have spoken out against it.
While we do not expect perfection, there must be some official regulation or terms for each of the less clear rules that all moderators are briefed on before becoming a part of the team.
Lack of Coordination
The team and the new owner of the subreddit have all admitted to the nonexistent connections between the members. We must consider time zones, school, work, and any other prohibitors. However, this is not an excuse for no attempts at reform. They have stated that the current system (if you could even call it that), has been working for the past year, but we all know one situation will topple the entire thing. It is better to act now while the consequences are few instead of reaping the repercussions of our actions when everything goes to hell.
Little Transparency and Community Feedback
A proper democratic process and community feedback has a next to no chance of existing within Reddit due to the power imbalance of the moderators and part of the subreddit. That said, transparency is the leading factor in conflicts between the mods and the majority. This involves the little clarity given in the rules and how the moderation team operates.
A prime example is the DH situation. The moderators had a private group chat with u/Dolls_Husband. We understand if it is wanted to be kept private, but the accused was actively asking for a witness to the event. One of the moderators stated that “You quite literally aren’t supposed to be listening in, but I’m not gonna report it, cause I believe in second chances.”2 While they did state that the decision to involve a witness was not up to them, not allowing a third party to spectate is a bad look. Without myself being able to observe the entire conversation using screenshots sent by u/Dolls_Husband, the verdict could have been unfair because of the lack of knowledge of the situation.
Even with multiple public outcries, it took dozens of people and an entire crisis to make reforms. This shows the general lack of regard for what the vocal parts of the community want. We will ensure that nothing of this magnitude happens again.3
1 It is pinned on my (u/Status_Awareness6310) profile for those who need it. 2 The user of this person will not be stated for their protection. 3 We are not promising anything because things will happen no matter what.
Chapter 2: Direct Changes
Democracy and Voting
We support opinions and ideas from our community body. Sticking to this claim, we have agreed to form a system of direct democracy for a form of governance while having oversight from the moderators.
Users do not have to vote, and those that do not vote at all will not be counted on either side.4 Moderators do not have extra voting power other than the decision-making process and for poll decisions, which happens internally in their own circles.
A moderator can be booted from that position with a 65% vote from the community. A new moderator does not have to be instated after expulsion. If the vote fails, the moderator(s) may keep their position but not punish those who voted for their departure. A 2-week waiting period takes place until another attempt is made.
The community can vote to change something minor about the subreddit such as a rule, censorship, events, etc. This can be achieved by obtaining at least 100 votes for yes on a poll, then forwarding the post off to the mods. If the mods are in favor, there will be an announcement post, and it will be instated the next day. If they veto the poll, there will be a month period where if that poll can get at least 350 votes for yes, it will have to be instated by the moderators. If it fails, the poll will be invalidated, and the same thing cannot be voted on for a 1-week period.
Polls cannot be openly advertised with different posts or comments in the sub. The people shall find it on their own and decide for themselves if they agree with the terms of the vote. The only exception to this rule is campaigning for an election. The candidate may post one post every 3 days. They may not advertise anything of it in the comment section of any post unless they are answering questions asked by people.
As of August 2025, there is no longer a formal hierarchy thus to prevent future teams from corruption and using it to justify tyranny. All mods are equal in their voting and the Reddit mod list, despite it technically providing hierarachy, shall be ignored at all times unless publicly voted on otherwise.
4 Not EVERY member of the community must vote. These rules only apply to the percentages seen on the post.
Emergency Voting and Crisis
We will vow to never become authoritarian in our ways. If most of the staff fall into the trap of power-hungry ideas, it has been officially decided that you may create a provisional moderation team to replace the old and return proper order. This can only be done if the staff clearly break this document and the rules inside it. One of the moderators with the power to do so will be voted on beforehand to authorize them to contact trusted users and promote them to reset the system. In this time, it is permitted to create a form of ‘martial law’ in where a small group of users keep the moderation of the sub while permanent positions are acquired, and the full details of the corruption are figured out.
Democracy will remain in a hybrid form as users can vote for their punishment after and other decisions (up to moderation discretion of which) will also be left to voting. Elections will be postponed for at least 2 weeks and at max 1 month to ensure the stability of the subreddit remains. It will also be upheld by a jury of at least 5 users and a max of 15 to decide if one or more of the former moderators are guilty.
If they are found innocent, they may return to their position or voluntarily leave. The jury may not be punished for a ‘wrong’ decision; however, the verdict can be overturned if there is new
evidence, and it is agreed by the new jury that they were innocent.
User Requirements
Modding is not a job for just anyone. We have a standard that a user must meet if they wish to appear on the ballot of an election.
They must have a completely clean or minor record of offenses in terms of drama, posts, comments, chats, etc.
They must send an application in the comment section of the post that is announcing the election cycle.
They must be online regularly to be able to contribute to our community and be present for voting in the mod circle.
They must be good of character and have no ulterior motives or their future role in moderation. If there is found to be such, they will be punished as this document allows and barred from ever competing in an election again.
General and Horny Chat
While the former RP Chat has been discontinued due to the misuse or no use of the chat, the remaining General Chat and the newer Horny Chat stand as places for our members to talk about anything. That said, there are still rules about what can be posted and the amount of time they may be posted. The rules of spam will apply to the chats.
There will be absolutely no lewd or pornographic images in the General Chat (unless is a joke in the form of text or a meme, this is up to mod discretion). The Horny Chat has more lax rules than Horny Weekend. The only requirement that the pornographic content have the parts mentioned in the Horny Weekend section be blurred with red, white, or black. Cynessa and Tessa are allowed, but incest is still banned. Fetish content is allowed if the sexual act is blurred to avoid total NSFW content. The use of toys is allowed, but like their robotic or biological counterparts, they must be censored. Other than that, all the rules of Horny Weekend apply.
Horny Weekend (HW)
This subsection is about the vague nature of horny weekends. We will not abolish it but only make things clearer in the gray areas.
Any extreme fetish such as feet, farts, any bodily fluids/functions (other than limited saliva), vore, excessive gore (showing deep gashes, cuts, exposed organs, exposed muscles, exposed bone, etc.5), graphic impregnation (showing sperm inside of womb or sexualizing pregnancy in general), extreme nudity (showing woman’s nipples and bare breasts, any genitals, holes, or bare asses), extreme forms of BTSM (The use of torture, rape, starving, dehydrating, etc.) and toys (dildos, vibrators, flesh lights, etc.)
What IS allowed is groping (without the need of removing clothing), cuddling, kissing, biting, softcore nudity (light clothing such as swimsuits, exposed nipples for men, just basically YouTube guidelines) and LGBTQIA. Anything else not mentioned and not directly or indirectly related to the banned subject is allowed.
Following a vote in April 2025, all lewd artwork of Tessa, Cyn, and Cynessa is legal. The only restrictions are the same rules that apply to all HW posts.
Incest of any kind is banned. This is mostly towards Uzi x Khan and N x Cyn artwork. Any unconfirmed theories on relatedness will be disregarded as they have not been officially recognized by Liam Vickers or Glitch. Showing platonic love and such are permitted, but anything that directly shows sexual relations between two related individuals is forbidden.
5 Most non-sexual art regarding Cynessa and the like are ok.
Alt Account Rules
We understand that Reddit chat auto moderator banning account completely is EXTREMELY annoying because it is very janky, and we have absolutely no control over it. If this happens to you, we have a protocol for this and will allow the use of alternative accounts.
You must have proof of you owning a previous account that was not banned by us. This can be done by providing a u/ username. We will check our records and if we find that you do not have any serious offenses and that your account is suspended, you will be allowed to interact with no issue on an alt account.
If you have been IP banned, the same applies. If we do not find any serious offenses within the MD sphere and you can verify that it was your account and the u/, you may use a VPN or the likes to interact with our community.
This is NOT a pass for us banning you. If you have been purposely banned from our mods team and we either do not allow an appeal or deny your attempt at an appeal. This only applies to when Reddit bans you due to a chat message or the like.
Karma Farming and Artwork Stealing
We do not allow theft of any kind anymore. We do not allow people to post art not made by them. Starting now, we are officially banning ANY post that contains artwork that is not of a meme format or the like. If it is straight up artwork and you did not make it (you must provide proof if you are asked about it, but it would be preferred to show it in the post).
This does not apply to comment sections as asking for images is a different story. You are allowed to post art you did not make if it is in a comment.
While you cannot post artwork you did not make, cross-posting artwork from other subreddits is ok if you are the author.
We will make one exception to this rule, and that is that we are lifting the ban if you have had permission from the artist. If you got permission from the original artist WITH PROOF in the post as a second image, you are protected.
We also do not allow those posts about sending an image to multiple subreddits and the chain of screenshots that lead back to a another subreddit.
Harassment and Attacks
The terms of the harassment rule are next to nothing. They do not state anything specific and leave people open to possible attacks due to the lackluster attempt at clarification. This subsection is to completely change the wording and rules of what can be defined as harassment.
Any offensive speech towards people religion, gender, sex, wealth, nationality, ethnicity, disability, sexuality, etc. will not be tolerated.
The definition of ‘harassment’ will be “The act of intentionally harming someone's identity through verbal, mental, or physical threats or attacks.” This includes doxing, usage of slurs, degrading an individual, graphic depictions of violence or sexual misconduct against an individual, etc. These actions will result in a permanent ban (with appeal possible if it is a misunderstanding somehow) and being reported to Reddit.
Satire posts are not an exception. No matter if you believe the ideology you are pushing, it is still harmful to our community. Symbols regarding hate groups and political groups are also
banned. This includes swastikas (卐 or 卍), the hammer and sickle (☭), and any other political items deemed harmful or unnecessary by the moderators.6
Spamming about one specific topic or against one person in general will also be considered harassment. We will not allow any action as such to be taken without either parties' consent.
Comments and Spamming
Although a lot of the rules based on comments have been applied in other places, they will be restated here.
We do not allow the spamming of copy and paste paragraphs of text. These clog the comments and are clog up the mod queue with spam and low effort replies. We will remove these no matter the context as it falls under the “low effort” rule.
We will also not allow pornographic content in the comments anymore unless it is HW. This includes the usual lewd comments or images that people leave despite the context. We will not ban ALL lewd or suggestive imagery, but please keep it to yourself if the post or content itself has nothing to do with that. This will be left up to mod discretion as almost every situation of this is different. Sometimes people can be creative and funny with it, other times people are just nasty or unoriginal with it. We get it, you want to do sexual things with robots.
6 This includes religious or general symbols used against people in the same way.
Politics
This is a new rule to clear up any previous controversies regarding politics. Despite being a Murder Drones related subreddit, politics are not banned. This mostly applies to the comment sections and the group chats that are owned by the subreddit.
To get posts out of the way, no, you may not post anything relating to politics and political figures because it is not related to Murder Drones. However, if you can incorporate MD into it using a meme or satire format, that is ok.7 It will be left to the mods if they deem a post hateful or harmful.
We can all agree that the comment section does not always pertain to the subject of the subreddit. So, if politics somehow find their way into a conversation in a comment section or in the general chat, please keep it constructive and respectful. You may talk about the subject when it comes up (however it does) but you still must follow the rules of harassment and basic human decency.
These rules apply to any conversation of any topic in our community, MD, political, or anything else.
7 Inserting MD characters in the election results and such.
Chapter 3: Management Changes
Moderator Removal
As many would have noticed, either from checking the mod list or the post made by u/NomisMC, that a large chunk of the team has been demoted from their position as moderator. This is due to inactivity or poor moderation. For much of their moderation, with was in the category of “content creation” which was just making comments. We deem it necessary that there be consequences for those who do not do their job. There will not be a quota set in place (as this will lead to a lot of posts being removed to stay mod) but the team can independently boot out one or more of their own if they are deemed unfit for any reason with a majority vote. Although the users can overturn this if they feel it is unfair. Mods that are not responsive after 1-2 weeks without warning will be questioned of their situation. If they do not respond they will be temporarily demoted until they come back.
New Communications
Mentioned in the grievances, there was no communication between the team. There has now been a new Discord group chat created for these purposes (I am currently in it and can verify its usage.) This will be used to sort out matters relating to all the previous matters and procedures set in place. Time zones are not as much of an issue as our mods so far have shown to be able to talk to others in at most a 4–5-hour time span.
This will ensure the regulation and normality of the rules between each moderator and allow for a team effort when called for.
This server was made private for mod stuff in summer of 2025 due to lack of public use. Openness and Transparency
The team has agreed that the way they were formerly was not the clearest about the ways they operate. The mods must now give anyone who wishes for information about their operations that info that they request. Of course, this must be in reason and cannot include any personal details.8 They must also give an apparent reason for banning someone if asked and a quote from the document to prove it.
We hope that these changes stop the accusations of foul moderation and bias towards specific users.
8 The subjects that can be requested are moderation actions and the graph of it, information of a recent ban, permission to post a gray area subject, etc.
Alliances and Partnerships
We will create a system of partnership that allows cross-subreddit events and participation, as well as friendly relationships with our closest neighbors. Here is how we will operate if one or more other communities takes up our offer:
They must be a democratic or semi-democratic style of management (if actual management is needed, otherwise this requirement is irrelevant) that has been approved by the head organization, MDO. If they meet the requirements, we will have discussion and officially admit them into the union. We will both put our subreddits in the community bookmark section. The requirements are stated per case and there are no formal ones.
We will hold meetings with one or more of the mod teams depending on the majority vote of the moderators and which people are optional to join.
Everything in the meetings will be about something to do with moderation of one or more subreddits, cross-sub events, cooperation between other communities, policy of one or more subs, etc.
The general purpose of the deal is to control the user and content flow for specific subs and ensure that we are at peak satisfaction. What this means is controlling what kinds of posts (memes, art, theories, etc.) are posted to control member traffic and create an ecosystem of MD content that will hopefully sustain it while it dies down.
Conclusion
Due to my outsider perspective on this matter, I may not have included all the reforms needed for our new system. This document is subject to change. I and the team are open to letting the community voice their criticisms of this document and edit it for you to your liking. Consider this my gift to the community (I am not leaving or anything).
This document was written by a delegate that represents the people, for the people, and will stay true to the people.
